Review Of New Y1 Smartwatch! (Now $13.54!)

Hey how’s it going guys, I’ve been usingthe Y1 bluetooth smartwatch for a few weeks without a sim.

There is an option to install a Nano SIM inthis, but I don’t know if all of the apps will work properly for going online like Facebook,Whatsapp, and Twitter or which types of carriers are compatible, and I couldn’t use my ownsim because I’m on a CDMA carrier, not GSM.

Besides that I must say this watch looks prettynice from the outside.

On top it’s made of metal, giving it a premiumlook and feel.

On one side you have the unlock or power buttonand on the other a micro USB port to recharge the watch.

The back is made of plastic which is alsowhere the speaker is located, and it gets fairly loud.

The back can be opened up with a flat tipscrewdriver to the microsd and Nano SIM slots underneath the 380 mAh battery.

The MicroSD card can be used to open yourfiles, play some music that can also be played from your phone directly onto the watch, recordaudio, change the wallpaper.

Unfortunately this is the only way customizethe watch.

There are 3 styles of the clock to pick from, and no themes unless if there’s a firmware available online or in the future.

Connecting to your phone is simple, all youdo is turn on bluetooth on your android phone then search for RX9 and it should connectautomatically afterwards.

The nice thing is that I can connect my bluetoothheadphones and the watch to the phone simultaneously.

You can access your call log, make calls andview your text messages along with other notifications that your phone receives with the BT notifierapp installed on your android phone.

You can text on here, but it’s joke a honestly.

The keys are way too small on here just likeon the calculator.

It would’ve been better if there was voicetyping instead.

When I was in a call, I was only able to hearthe person in quiet areas and vise versa.

One of the cool features you can use on hereis flick to mute an incoming call.

You can also flick the watch to mute the alarmor turn on the screen which is pretty cool, but sadly it’s not always accurate.

When someone's calling you, the watch startsringing even if your phone is on vibrate or silent.

This can be changed in the profile app.

I kept mine on silent for the most part andit doesn’t make any noises except it vibrates randomly sometimes.

It also vibrates 4-5 times before the batterydies out and the battery life isn’t great on this, but it’s not horrible either.

With mid brightness I got through a wholeday with a little bit of juice left over before needing to recharge it and it takes 1 hourto recharge from 0% to 100%.

The only reason I say it’s not horribleis because of the price.

There’s a power saving mode that can helpmake the watch last longer as well as lowering the brightness and screen time.

The screen itself is decent, and it gets brightenough to view it outside in sunlight.

Now even though the screen is a rounded watch, the software itself doesn’t support a rounded screen.

There are options that are usually cut offon the bottom left or right making it harder to press and it just looks unappealing.

At the time of this video you can pick thisup for under $25 in the States, or 1,500 rupees in India from what I’ve seen.

This is mainly the reason why I’m not bashingit much for not being completely functional such as the pedometer not working, becauseit’s cheap.

It’s like a dz09 watch, but it looks betterbeing a rounded watch.

This still doesn’t have many features andyou’re pretty much stuck with the apps you have, but it might be a good choice to giveas a gift to a kid or for yourself as a first smartwatch to get the hang of things.
